- I am Krishan Verma
I am an Electrical Engineer, and I also have a keen interest in spirituality. Science and Spirituality, both are based on logic, though the logic of one may not apply to the other. Both have logic-based governing principles. Underneath those principles lies one Source from which both, science and spirituality, originate. Neither every scientist, nor every person who practices yoga, is interested in knowing the Source. But a few do, and they search in their own ways. There may be many ways, but there is only one Source. The Source and Truth are one and same.
For me, engineering was a profession, and yoga is a journey.
Here is a snapshot of my engineering career.
The rest is all about my yoga journey.
- It’s me on the elephant. Leading the way is my Spiritual Master Sri Sri. Spiritual journey without a Master is devoid of joy and leads to nowhere.
- Here are some of my yoga students. Actually, my students are my yoga friends. I have yoga friends all over the world. We walk on the path together.
<3 After working as an Electrical Engineer for 23 years, I left engineering to pursue my passion for yoga and spirituality.
From my early childhood, I have had the opportunity to spend time with many great Spiritual Masters. Their teachings and blessings have shaped my spirituality in many different dimensions.
I have had the opportunity to learn yoga from many great teachers, from many different traditions, both in India and Canada. I received my formal (basic and advanced) teacher training from Shivananda School of Yoga. However, I understood and experienced yoga in its true sense, at the spiritual level, only after I met my current Spiritual Master Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, the founder of the Art of Living Foundation.
Over the years, I have developed several Art of living Yoga Programs, which not just nourish the body, but also Mind and Spirit. I have trained thousands of yoga teachers, and taught therapeutic yoga programs , and other Art of Living courses around the globe.
With regard to my teaching of yoga, I have received the best possible and most beautiful testimonials and compliments, both from my yoga friends and my Spiritual Master but, never for a moment I forget to direct all praise to Him. Because I know, whatever I know and whatever I have, it all comes from Him. I belong to Him.
Him is not an individual or a gender. It is the Divine Presence in me. It is the same Divine Presence in everyone. Recognition of this Divine Presence in me is a blessing, bestowed on me by my Spiritual Masters of present and past, for which I am ever so grateful.
I am also so grateful for being supported and loved so fondly by my Spiritual Master, my family, and thousands of my yoga friends.
My yoga flows from this space of love and gratefulness. <3
